Ground pangolin:

Is an elusive creature that has quickly become one of the world’s most trafficked mammals. They are hard to spot in the wild because of their nocturnal behavior, poached and traded more than even elephants and rhinos, and a growing demand for them puts them at risk of extinction. An estimated 100,000 are taken from the wild each year.
Wrong beliefs hence poaching.
Large-scale trafficking is driven by a belief that pangolin scales have magical and curative properties and demand for their meat. When mixed with bark from certain trees, the scales are thought to neutralize witchcraft and evil spirits.
NB: [The animal can be the sign of good upcoming future of weather, crops or conflicts]

  2. This my first time learning about these animals! I love learning something new! It’s a shame what’s happening to them and many other animals. Sometimes when we hunt done animals for their parts we leave them alive to suffer (ex: when we take elephant tusks or shark fins). Something needs to be done to change this.
